I love this thermometer. It’s fast, easy to clean, and I love that it turns off just by folding the probe back in. The ring on the end is a great touch. I hang it by the stove instead of digging through messy drawers. I’m not a fan of cooking at all, and even I find this super useful. Definitely a must have for any kitchen.

This thermometer works great! You just open the probe and the display automatically reads. Seems pretty accurate and it's reasonably priced. The magnet holds on to my fridge or you could place it on a grill in an area that doesn't get too warm. This is ran by a AA battery.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting too much from this. My very old thermometer just died, and the replacement battery was going to cost more than this one, so I figured, why not? This is bigger than my old one, but not too much so. That's the only negative. There are a number of pluses. This one determines the temperature SO quickly--in most cases within a second or two. Also, unlike my last one, this can't accidentally be left on--it automatically turns off when you bend the probe in for storage. And best of all, it takes a AAA battery, not some strange coin battery no stores carry. I use rechargeable batteries for everything, and I always have a few extra AA and AAAs waiting to be swapped out, so that's perfect for me. Honestly, I love this!

This quick-read meat thermometer is pretty great. Works well, is easy to use, and looks as pictured. However, I noticed the magnet on the back is not very strong, and it starts to slide down my fridge slowly when I stick it to the side. Also, the probe is a bit hard to click fully into the grooves when closing and is even harder to open back up once it is fully locked into place. There is room for improvement. That said, it does seem to be a pretty decent item for its price point (about $13 at the time of this review).
I really like this Lightyear instant read thermometer, especially that it's narrow and so easier for my smaller hands to hold. The probe opens easily. It's not stiff at all. The temperature guide on the unit is easy to read and very hand. The hook on the end is a plus. It uses AAA batteries, which is so much more convenient. Great product. I do recommend.
I ordered and received the Lightyear Meat Thermometer with the Sunset Grill Color. This thermometer is a delight to use. It turns on and shuts off by unfolding and then folding the meat probe. It's powered by a single AAA battery which is already installed for you in the meat thermometer. The Light year comes with instructions that tell you how to easily calibrate the unit using ice water. The instructions say that the unit is calibrated before shipping, but mine needed to be calibrated. You can switch between degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius. There is a backlight that you can turn on if you are looking at the thermometer in the dark. The temperature reading is very fast. I like that this has a waterproof rating of IP65 because that makes it easier to wash the probe without worrying about ruining it.
So far so good. This thermometer was easy to use, just move the needle to the open position and the thermometer is ready to go. I tested it on some steaks, and the temperature looked correct based on the color of the meat. The hanging loop also feels solid. All in all a good thermometer.
Nice little thermometer! It comes with a battery installed, already, which is a plus. All you have to do is open it to activate it. It's programmed to show farenheit as the primary temperature measurement, which is great. I get so many things that are programmed for Celsius as the primary measurement, and that's always a pain, because we're not used to Celsius in the states. I ordered this to use to make candles with, and it seems to be perfect for that, along with being a meat thermometer. Heck I can use this thing, if I wanted to, to make sure I'm not running a temperature:)
